Lady Broncs Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

Feb. 23, 2007

The U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association announced the University of Texas-Pan American women's cross country team as a 2006 NCAA Division I All-Academic Women's Cross Country Team on Friday (Feb. 23).

The Lady Broncs recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.130 for the 2006 fall semester. The announcement comes shortly after three Lady Broncs earned Independent All-Academic team honors in Ashley Perez (Falfurrias, TX/Falfurrias H.S.), Sonya Rivera (Brownsville, TX/Hanna H.S.) and Vanessa Rodriguez (Harlingen, TX/Harlingen H.S.).

The USTFCCCA honors teams for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the cross country season. UTPA was one of 145 NCAA Division I women's teams that recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
