Outdoor - The UTPA sophomore captured the triple jump title in her first outdoor track and field meet of the season with a distance of 38-1 at the Border Olympics... earned runner-up laurels in the long jump with a mark of 18-5 at that meet, which was the fifth-best jump in program history... finished second overall at the Houston Invitational with a personal-best mark of 39-3.75 in the triple jump, which was the third-best jump in program history... recorded a third-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 38-7.50 in the triple jump at the Texas Invitational... posted a third-place finish at the ASU/David Noble Relays with a distance of 39-3.75 in the triple jump... posted eight top-10 finishes during her second season with the Lady Broncs... finished fifth overall at the Rice/Bayou Classic with a distance of 38-6.75 in the triple jump... Outdoor - Cavazos won two individual championships in the triple jump during her rookie season with the Lady Broncs... captured her first title at the Hyatt Regency Invitational with a season-best distance of 38-0.75 in the triple jump... recorded a mark of 37-4 at the Angela Proctor Classic en route to securing her second crown of the season... recorded a score of 2,769 points in the heptathlon at the Angelo State Multi-Events... Indoor - Cavazos placed 12th overall at the Tyson Invitational with a distance of 37-6.5 in the triple jump.

Weslaco East High School
Cavazos was named the top long jump performer in the Rio Grande Valley in each of her final three seasons as a member of the Weslaco East High School track and field team... named the top triple jump performer in the Rio Grande Valley during her junior and senior campaigns... was a four-time Most Valuable Performer award winner for the Wildcats... captured the District 32-4A title in both the long and triple jump in each of her four seasons... won the regional championship in the triple jump during her senior season... advanced to the Texas State Track and Field Championships in that event as a senior... recorded the top leaps in school history in the long jump and triple jump with marks of 17-11.5 and 37-10.5, respectively... was a two-time Most Valuable Player award winner for the volleyball team... selected as an All-District 32-4A performer on two occasions in volleyball... graduated from Weslaco East High School with honors.

Cavazos is the daughter of Joel and Minerva Cavazos... has three brothers - Joe, Eleazar and Astolfo - and one sister - Elsa... was born on Nov. 4, 1985... majoring in kinesiology.
