2006-07 [Freshman Season]
In her first season with the Lady Broncs, Willerding posted an 8-17 record in singles' competition, including a 3-3 mark in tournament action... collected a 10-13 record at the number-one and -two doubles' positions with a 4-3 mark coming in tournament competition... advanced to the Round of 32 with teammate Julia Cirne-Lima at the ITA Tournament with an 8-6 victory over the team of Kristen Reid and Claire Rietsch of SMU... finished third overall in doubles' competition with Cirne-Lima at the Stephen F. Austin Invitational... reached the semifinals of singles' competition at the Stephen F. Austin Invitational with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Heidi Miller of Central Arkansas... defeated Alexandra Dyckman of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the number-four position of the lineup with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph... notched a straight-set victory by scores of 6-0 and 6-0 over Candace Calmer of Prairie View A&M... defeated Heidi Miller of Central Arkansas for the second time in her freshman campaign in the final home match of the season by scores of 7-5 and 6-1... captured four consecutive victories in doubles' competition with triumphs coming against University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Nicholls State and Prairie View A&M... captured back-to-back victories at the number-two position of doubles' competition with Cirne-Lima against Stephen F. Austin and Monterrey Tech... selected to the UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the first time in her career... cited as a Bronc Pride 3.0 Club member during both the fall and spring semesters... earned Dean's List Second Honors during the fall academic campaign.
Northview Heights Secondary School
Willerding comes to the Rio Grande Valley after a standout career at Northview Heights Secondary School where she was a teammate of current UTPA student-athlete Megan Bedeau... was ranked by the International Tennis Federation among all junior players in the world... was ranked as high as 73rd in women's singles' action in Canada during the 2005 season and rose to 29th in the country in Under-18 doubles' action and 42nd in the country in Under-18 singles' action that season... was ranked 17th in the women's singles' poll and 24th in the Under-18 singles' poll in her home province of Ontario... qualified for the Canadian National Tournament in each of her last three seasons and was a member of Team Ontario since the 2002 season... was ranked second in Ontario in the Under-16 rankings and was listed in the top-13 in the Under-13 rankings in Canada... was also a member of the volleyball team for Northview Heights Secondary School.
Off the Court
Willerding is the daughter of Steve and Nelly Willerding... was born on May 16, 1988... has one brother - Charles - and one sister - Christina... majoring in kinesiology and communications... chose UTPA over UNC-Asheville and University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
