2006-07 [Freshman Season]
The UTPA newcomer concluded her freshman season with a total of 26 victories, including 14 triumphs in doubles' competition during the 2006-07 season... recorded the majority of her success in doubles' action with teammate Silke Buksik as the UTPA tandem posted an 11-4 mark, including a 10-4 record at the number-three doubles' position... recorded seven consecutive victories in doubles' competition during the spring season defeating teams from Nicholls State, Prairie View A&M, University of Connecticut, Stephen F. Austin, Monterrey Tech, Rice University and University of Texas-Arlington... captured four consecutive victories with Buksik early in the season against McMurry University, Abilene Christian, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas State... recorded a 9-7 victory over Amanda Brahim and Alexandra Valarezo of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi... defeated the Rice doubles' team of Christine Dao and Kimberley Patenaude by an 8-2 count... handed Liz Dibbs and Christine Burek of the University of Connecticut an 8-2 setback at the number-three doubles' position... recorded a third-place finish at the Stephen F. Austin Invitational during the fall season in doubles' competition with teammate Giana Oliveira as the UTPA tandem defeated Centenary... won four consecutive matches in singles' competition at the number-four and -five positions by defeating opponents from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Nicholls State, Prairie View A&M and University of Connecticut... clinched the 4-3 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for the Lady Broncs with a three-set victory over Nina Ciric at the number-five position... notched a three-set triumph over Breann Cheung of the University of Connecticut... defeated Rebecca McCullough of Central Arkansas by scores of 6-3 and 6-4 in the consolation finals of the Stephen F. Austin Invitational... closed out the season with a victory over McCullough by scores of 6-1 and 6-1 to conclude her freshman campaign... cited as a UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll award recipient for the first time in her career... earned Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors during the fall and spring semesters.
Northview Heights Secondary School
Bedeau was a standout member of the Northview Heights Secondary School where she was a prep teammate of current UTPA freshman Stephanie Willerding... was ranked 55th in Canada in Under-18 singles' competition and 51st in the country in Under-18 doubles' action during the 2005 season... broke into the top-100 nationally in Under-18 during the 2004 campaign... was ranked 13th in the Province of Ontario in Under-18 singles' competition and 18th in Under-18 doubles' action... won seven Ontario Tennis Association singles' tournament during her final three seasons at Northview Heights Secondary School... played in the Under-14 ITF Tournament in Barbados during the 2001 and 2002 seasons where she was crowned the singles' champion during the 2002 campaign... reached the finals in both singles and doubles in each of those two seasons.
Off the Court
Bedeau is the daughter of Wilson and Leanora Bedeau... has two sisters - Gail and Kizzy... was born on Sept. 14, 1988... majoring in nursing... chose UTPA over Bethune-Cookman, Alabama State and University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
