The University of Texas-Pan American women's golf team finished with a seventh place finish out of eight teams at the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational on Tuesday (Apr. 8).
As a team, the Lady Broncs finished with a two-round score of 652 (319-333) while host Southern Mississippi (621), ULM (622), Marshall University (628), Birmingham Southern (631), and University of West Florida (632) rounded off the top five spots.
Leading the way for the Lady Broncs was junior Mariale Camey who finished tied for 17th place with a two-round tally of 160 (75-85) while Elizabeth Rodriguez tied for 19th overall with a score of 161 (75-86).
Bronwyn Sandberg finished with a two-round tally of 164 (83-81) tying for 23rd overall while Rebecca De Leon tied for 33rd overall with a 36-hole score of 170 (87-83).
Newcomer Haley Hocott recorded a two-round score of 170 (86-84) tying with teammate De Leon for 33rd place.
The Lady Broncs will enjoy several weeks off from competition until the National Minority Championships on May 9-11 in Port St. Lucie, FL.
