The University of Texas - Pan American women's golf team is currently in second place at the CenturyTel Bobcat Spring Invitational in Kyle, TX, after two rounds of action on Monday (Apr. 4).
The Lady Broncs finished the first day of competition with a total team score of 630 (317-313), which places them 12 shots behind tournament leaders Lamar University. Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, Texas State and Northern Colorado round out the top five of the eight-team Invitational.
Junior Stefanie Maynard (Pflugerville, TX/Pflugerville H.S.) is the Lady Broncs' top performer as she currently resides in second place - one shot back of Lamar's Christa Gunn. She shot a pair of 76s en route to finishing the day at 162.
Junior Daniela Cortes (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Colegio Portugal) is tied for sixth place with a total score of 157 (81-76) followed by senior Crystal Frazier (Coolidge, TX/Wortham H.S.) in 12th position after a two-round score of 160 (79-81). Nikki Boychuk (Conroe, TX/Willis H.S.) is one shot back of her teammate at 161 (81-80) and tied for 14th while Elizabeth Rodriguez (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood H.S.) is tied for 23rd at 166 (81-85).
The final round of competition will be completed on Tuesday (Apr. 5).
