2006-07 [Freshman Season]
The UTPA freshman made an immediate impact on the Lady Broncs' lineup in her rookie season as she appeared in all 29 games while earning a spot in the starting rotation in five contests... became the first freshman in program history to record a double-double (points-rebounds) in her first collegiate game against Centenary (Nov. 11) with a 14-point, 11-rebound performance... scored 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting to go along with three steals and two rebounds in her first game at the UTPA Fieldhouse against Texas A&M-International (Nov. 14)... cited with Independent Newcomer of the Week honors after her first two collegiate games with the Lady Broncs... scored a career-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds, a career-high four steals, two blocked shots and two assists against United Basketball League-opponent New Jersey Institute of Technology (Jan. 13)... nearly recorded her second career double-double (points-rebounds) against New Jersey Institute of Technology (Feb. 3) with 10 rebounds and nine points... scored 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting to go along with six rebounds at the Battle at the Border Tournament against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Dec. 29)... notched 12 points, five rebounds, a career-high five assists and four steals against Schreiner (Nov. 21)... collected 10 points and five rebounds on the road at Utah Valley State (Feb. 10)... notched eights point and six rebounds at the Air Force Academy Tournament against Western Michigan (Dec. 1)... posted six points, six rebounds and a career-high three blocked shots on the road at South Dakota State (Feb. 15)... ranked second on the Lady Broncs in field goal percentage (.466) and blocked shots (18), fourth in total rebounds (101), rebounding average (3.5) and steals (34) and fifth in total points (146), scoring average (5.0) and minutes played (563).
High School
Jean was a three-time All-District selection for Hightower High School where she earned first team honors during her sophomore and senior seasons... averaged 8.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.3 blocks per game during her junior campaign en route to earning second team all-district laurels... set the Hightower High School program record for most blocked shots and steals in a single season during her final campaign with the squad... recorded 85 blocked shots during her senior season... was a member of a prep squad that captured the district championship in her junior campaign... was a member of the Fort Bend Stars and Ice Age Express during the summer months where she earned Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors for the Stars... was a standout on the track where she captured the district championship in the high jump and triple jump in both her sophomore and junior seasons... earned seven letters at Hightower High School - four in track and field and three in basketball.
Off the Hardwood
Jean is the daughter of Andre and Carolle Jean... was born on Sept. 21, 1987... has seven brothers - Andre, James, Mardoch, Juae, Dan, Enock and Benjamin - and five sisters - Nicole, Amie, Andrea, Michealle and Joann... brother - Mardoch - was a standout at Hardin-Simmons where he was selected as the Conference Defensive Player of the Year... majoring in pre-law... chose UTPA over Nebraska, Old Dominion and University of San Diego.
