Cottrell ranked first among all NJCAA Division I women's basketball programs in turnover margin 7.6, third in assists-to-turnover ratio 1.025:1, blocks per game 4.8, offensive rebounds per game 17.2 and steals per game 12.9 and fourth in scoring defense per game 52.4... led the Patriots to a 15-13 overall record, including a 10-4 mark in the Alabama Community College Conference Southern Division... appeared in 28 games in her first season with the Patriots at the point guard position where she averaged 6.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game while connecting on 40.6 percent 63-of-155 of her field goal attempts... appeared in 26 games during her sophomore campaign with the Patriots where she connected on 38.9 percent 112-of-288 of her field goal attempts en route to scoring 299 total points on the team, which ranked second on the Wallace Community College-Selma program... concluded her sophomore season with the Patriots by averaging 11.5 points, 6.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game en route to securing first team All-Region XXII and first team All-ACCC Southern League laurels... ranked second among all NJCAA Division I women's basketball players in assists per game and steals per game and third in assists-to-turnover ratio 2.1:1.

Cottrell was a standout during her prep career at Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL, where she led the squad to an Alabama Girls' Basketball State Championship during her senior season and was selected to the all-tournament team... concluded her senior campaign by averaging 12.0 points, 7.0 assists and 5.0 steals per game en route to securing first team All-Alabama honors.

Cottrell is the daughter of Michael and Rose Cottrell... was born on September 23, 1986... has two sisters and one brother... majoring in Kinesiology.
