Carey was a first team Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region selection during her junior and senior seasons... was a two-time first team All-District 11-4A selection... was cited by TexasHoops.com as one of the top 100 players in Texas... averaged 12.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.8 steals and 1.0 assists per game in her final season at Poteet High School... selected to the honorable mention all-district team in her freshman season... earned the Most Improved Player Award that season... garnered Honor Roll laurels throughout her high school career... was a recipient of the Chevron Academic Honor Roll Award... earned six letters during her prep career - four in basketball and two in track and field.
