The University of Texas-Pan American finished 16th out of 16 teams at the SMU Stonebridge Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 5) at the Stonebridge Country Club in McKinney, TX, after the first day of competition was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
Freshman A.J. Hohn (Stockton, CA/Lodi H.S.) was the Broncs' top performer as he tied for 31st after shooting a 74 (38-36) during the competition's only 18 holes of action. Jeff Hensley (Van Horn, TX/Van Horn H.S.) was tied for 44th, finishing with a 76 (37-39) while sophomore Colin Norris (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Cochrane H.S.) was tied for 66th after firing a one-round score of 79 (36-43).
Freshmen Kyle Tudi (Phoenix, AZ/Chaparral H.S.) finished tied for 74th after firing an 82 (37-45), and Alvaro Gonzalez (McAllen, TX/McAllen Memorial H.S.) was 83rd with a one-round total of 86 (44-42).
David Callaway of McNeese State and Texas - Arlington's Jeff Murray were named co-champions of the Invitational after each shot a four-under 68. Texas - Arlington was crowned as the SMU Stonebridge Invitational after shooting two-under (286) while Southeastern Louisiana (290), Oklahoma City University (291), Texas - San Antonio (291) and McNeese State (292) rounded out the top five.
The Broncs will be back in action on Oct. 11th at the Crown Classic hosted by Stephen F. Austin in Lufkin, TX.
