2006-07 [Junior Season]
The UTPA junior averaged 7.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.8 steals per game during this past season... ranked third on the Broncs in total points (229), scoring average (7.9), field goals made (70), field goal attempts (171), three-point field goals made (43), three-point field goal attempts (108), three-point field goal percentage (.398), steals (24) and minutes played (803)... listed fourth on the team in free throw attempts (65) and assists (36) and fifth in free throws made (46)... ranked in the top 10 among all NCAA Division I Independent players in three-point field goal percentage... scored a season-high 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 5-of-8 from behind the three-point line, against Huston-Tillotson (Nov. 15)... scored 14 points on the road at the Air Force Academy (Dec. 6) on 5-of-10 shooting, including a quartet of three-pointers... scored 14 points at the UTPA Fieldhouse versus South Dakota State on 2-of-4 shooting, including a season-high 8-of-9 from the charity stripe, to go along with three rebounds... collected 13 games of 10 or more points this past season... scored 13 points to go along with four rebounds and two assists in the opening game of the UCF Holiday Classic against James Madison (Dec. 29)... notched 11 points and five rebounds at the Alamo Dome against Southland Conference-foe The University of Texas at San Antonio (Nov. 12)... finished with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 3-of-4 from behind the three-point line, against The University of Texas-Arlington (Nov. 21)... scored 11 points against Texas State (Dec. 9)... collected 10 points against Stephen F. 2005-06 [Sophomore Season]
Shankle was the Broncs' leading scorer in his sophomore season as he averaged 11.0 points per game... posted career-highs in 17 different categories, including points (331), steals (32), assists (47), blocked shots (5), rebounds (96), rebounds per game (3.2), games played (30), games started (30), field goals made (101), field goal attempts (279), three-point field goals made (45) and three-point field goal attempts (136)... scored 10 or more points in 18 games this past season while leading the team in scoring on eight occasions... scored a career-high 21 points against Air Force (Dec. 3) on 4-of-8 shooting, including a career-high 11-of-14 from the free throw line... scored 19 points against the University of Texas at San Antonio (Dec. 6)... posted 18 points, two rebounds and one steal on the road at Wichita State (Nov. 22)... finished with 16 points, five rebounds and one assist in the Broncs' season opener against Sul Ross State (Nov. 18)... collected 12 points and seven rebounds against Kent State (Nov. 26) at the South Padre Island Invitational... set career-highs with seven rebounds against Kent State, Texas Tech (Dec. 10) and Arkansas (Dec. 30)... notched 14 points, four rebounds and a career-high four steals against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 20)... set a career-high with eight assists at the UTPA Fieldhouse against the University of Tulsa (Jan. 7) while playing in a career-high 41 minutes of action... recorded double-digits in points in nine of the first 10 games of the season... led the Broncs in field goal attempts, three-point field goals made, three-point field goal attempts, free throws made, free throw attempts, points and scoring average... listed second on the team in assists, steals and minutes played... appeared in 30 games, earning a spot in the starting rotation on all 30 occasions.
2004-05 [Freshman Season]
The UTPA newcomer appeared in 21 games in his first campaign with the Broncs... scored a season-high eight points at Northern Colorado (Jan. 8) where he also added a season-high four rebounds... finished with six points the following game against Utah Valley State (Jan. 11) on 2-of-3 shooting in a season-high 25 minutes of action... scored six points against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Dec. 1) on 2-of-4 shooting, including 1-of-2 from behind the three-point arc... scored five points and distributed two assists versus Wright State (Dec. 22)... ranked first among Bronc freshmen in three-point field goals made and assists... averaged 1.7 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game during his rookie campaign.
High School
Shankle comes to the Broncs after concluding a stellar career at James E. Taylor High School... was a two-time Most Valuable Player award winner on his prep squad... left the program ranked fourth on the all-time scoring list... named a first team All-District 19-5A selection as a senior and junior... earned second team all-district honors during his sophomore season... cited as a second team all-region pick in his final two seasons... earned three letters on the hardwood... was part of a highly-recognized summer team, West Side All-Stars... finished 55-11 last summer and achieved a ranking of 12th in the nation.
