2003 - 2004 - In his first season with the Broncs, Sanchez made an immediate impact in the lineup, leading UTPA in 12 categories... cited as a first team All-Independent selection as a junior and was named the UTPA Male Student-Athlete Newcomers of the Year award winner... led UTPA in assists in 20 games and scoring in 13 contests... recorded six games of 20 or more points, including a career-high 29 points against McMurry (Dec. 31)... scored 26 points versus Lamar (Feb. 4), finishing 6-11 from the field and a perfect 12-12 at the charity stripe... grabbed a season-high seven rebounds in that contest... scored in double-digits in 18 of the 28 games during the year... led the Broncs in field goals made, three-point field goals made, free throws made, assists, steals and points... had one double-double (points and assists) during the year against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi (Feb. 14) where he collected 21 points and a season-high 10 assists... made six three-pointers during that game... shot a perfect 10-10 from the foul line en route to a 21-point performance against the Islanders (Feb. 28) in their second meeting... finished 19th among all NCAA Division I players in free throw percentage... collected 23 points along with six steals against North Texas (Jan. 8)... dished out eight assists against both Southwestern Assemblies of God (Dec. 1) and Oklahoma State (Dec. 22)... started all 28 games for the Broncs.
2001 - 2003 (Temple College) - Sanchez put together a tremendous resume during his two seasons at Temple College... recorded honorable mention All-American honors during his sophomore season... named to the first team All-Region V on two occasions... garnered North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Year laurels... was a first team all-conference selection... selected as the NTJCAC Player of the Week... led Temple in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game... averaged 18.0 points per game in conference action... posted 7.96 assists per game, which ranked him 11th nationally among all National Junior College Athletic Association Division I players... made 148 of 160 free throws during his career, resulting in a 93 percent free throw percentage... made 38 percent of his three-point field goals... averaged 2.8 steals per game... nominated for Student of the Year honors along with Who's Who Among American Junior College Students.
High School - A product of South San Antonio High School, Sanchez averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game during his senior season... named San Antonio Class 5A Player of the Year that season... was a second team All-Texas selection and first team All-Region IV pick... chosen as the Most Valuable Player in District 28-5A.
