Grant Leonard begins his second season as the Administrative Assistant for the men's basketball program at The University of Texas-Pan American.
The UTPA administrative assistant serves as the film exchange coordinator and assists in the day-to-day operations of the UTPA men's basketball program. In addition to his role with the Broncs, Leonard has also served as a special assistant to the Dean of Admissions in helping with statistical research in regards to retention while assisting the UTPA Sports Information Department with various game-day operations. Leonard also serves as the Housing Coordinator for Unity Hall on the campus of UTPA.
Leonard came to the Rio Grande Valley after serving as the first assistant coach at Washington College during the 2005-06 season. He assisted in all basketball duties and day-to-day operations for the program and headed all skill development sessions for the Shoremen. As the recruiting coordinator for Washington College, Leonard received commitments from 15 recruits and also served as the Director for Fundraising for the men's basketball program.
During his coaching career at Washington College, Leonard also assisted in the operation of the Eastern Invitational Basketball Clinic in New Jersey as a camp coach. His prior basketball camp experience consisted of serving as the Director of the North Shore Basketball Camp in Chicago, IL, from 1998-2005 where he overall the day-to-day activities while hiring and training all staff members.
The UTPA administrative assistant served as the first assistant coach at Shorewood High School in Shorewood, WI, from 2004-05 where he held several coaching assignments for the Greyhounds while overseeing the skill development and strength and conditioning programs.
At William Penn University, Leonard earned Academic All-Region laurels during his junior and senior seasons while guiding the Statesmen to 32 wins over his career with the squad.
A student-athlete at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA, Leonard earned Academic All Region honors in 2003 and 2004. As a scholarship player he helped lead the Statesmen to nine conference championship games and 15- and 17-win seasons.
Leonard earned his bachelor's degree in psychology while garnering Cum Laude laurels and is currently completing his master's degree in psychology from Washington College in 2006.
