With game one postponed and moved to Saturday afternoon, The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs suffered a 23-15 setback over the Bears in Greeley, CO at the Jackson Field.
The Broncs fell to 17-30 overall while Northern Colorado improved to 16-30 on the season.
Northern Colorado's biggest inning of the game came in the seventh when they collected 11 runs on 10 hits.
Matt Shepherd took the loss for the Broncs, pitching 1.2 innings, allowing seven hits, seven runs - all earned while walking four batters.
Jeremy Johnson went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI's while three other Broncs finished with multi-hit performances.
Game Two
After dropping game one on Saturday, the Broncs came back on Sunday and recorded an 11-5 victory.
With the victory, the Broncs improved to 18-30 overall while the Bears dropped to 16-31 on the season.
Cody Cisper collected his fifth win of the season, pitching a complete game, allowing eight hits, five runs - all earned while striking out five Bear's batters.
Senior Roly Gonzalez led the Broncs with a four hit performance while shortstop Andrew Perez recorded three hits including a two-run homer to left center in the ninth.
Game Three
The Broncs dropped a 16-6 decision in the final game of the series on Sunday where they used five pitchers in the contest.
The setback dropped the Broncs to 18-31 overall while Northern Colorado collected their 17th victory of the season.
Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with one run scored while Bonham Hough recorded his fifth homerun of the season in the third frame.
The Broncs collected four runs in the sixth inning on five hits but it wasn't enough to stop the Bears as they collected 13 runs in the final three frames of the game.
Shane Janecka took the loss for the Broncs falling to 2-5 on the season. Janecka pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 10 hits, eight runs - all earned while only walking one.
The Broncs will play their final three game of the season against Texas Christian University on Saturday (May 10) in Fort Worth, TX before the National Independent Tournament beginning on May 21.
UTPA will go head-to-head with TCU with the first game slated for 6:30 p.m.
