Vest finished with a .343 conference batting average where he drove in 30 RBI, to go along with 11 doubles, eight stolen bases, and a .515 on-base percentage... led the Thunderducks to a 39-19 overall record... comes from a junior college program that has made eight NJCAA World Series appearances since 1995 and were National Champions in 2002, 2003, and 2004.

Vest was a standout athlete at La Porte High School...earned two letters in basketball and three in baseball...played basketball with Zach and Jacob Trader who are members of the UTPA men's basketball team... earned Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore in basketball... collected all-district honors as a senior in baseball... finished his senior campaign with a .354 batting average where he collected 10 doubles, 20 RBI, and six stolen bases... led his team to a district 23-5A championship and state regional semifinalist... was part of a team that was a state regional semifinalist... was a member of the National Honor Society... graduated with a 3.25 grade point average.
