2007 [Junior Season]
Shives, Jr. appeared in eight games during his junior season... posted a .222 batting average in eight games for the Broncs where he collected two hits in nine at-bats... recorded three RBI and one home run against Dallas Baptist (Apr. 21)... recorded a .222 on-base percentage and .556 slugging percentage.
2006 [Sophomore Season]
The UTPA sophomore posted a .286 batting average in 13 games for the Broncs where he collected two hits in seven at-bats... scored six runs during the season... posted one hit and one run scored against both Oklahoma (Feb. 4) and Oregon State (Apr. 1).
2005 [Freshman Season]
Shives, Jr. posted a .160 batting average with three runs scored and two RBI in 15 appearances for the Broncs during his freshman season.
Edinburg High School
A product of Edinburg High School, Shives, Jr. earned All-District 31-5A and All-Rio Grande Valley honors during his senior campaign... selected as the Co-Most Valuable Player following his final season for the Bobcats... selected as an All-Area selection as a senior... named Newcomer of the Year for the Bobcats during his sophomore season with the program... selected as the Defensive Most Valuable Player during his sophomore season at Edinburg High School... was part of a Bobcats' squad that was the bi-district champions during the 2004 season.
