Broyles recorded nine saves that season, which ranked him 29th in the nation... was one of two UTPA baseball players to be named first team All-Independent selection... played and started in 49 contests last season where he batted .208 average... collected 23 hits on the season, including six doubles and 19 RBI... posted a 5.11 ERA while making 13 appearances on the mound... recorded eight steals in his nine attempts on the season.
Northeast Texas C.C. - Broyles was a two-year starter at NTCC... batted .316 with 17 doubles, three triples, one home run and 24 RBI during his two-year tenure... finished with a record of 2-1, including 14 saves and 67 strikeouts, in two seasons.
Spring Hill High School - Broyles was named East Texas Pitcher of the Year... cited as an All-State performer in both 2000 and 2001... cited as the District Most Valuable Player twice... chosen for the Texas Hight School Baseball Coaches' All-Star Game as a senior... named District Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore... batted .348 with 15 doubles, two home runs, 57 RBI and 97 runs... scored in 81 varsity games during his three-year career... was 25-3 in his prep career as a pitcher... posted a 1.69 ERA... walked 56 while striking out 248 in 178 innings pitched... went 13-0 on the mound as a senior.
