UTPA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics graduation rate (41 percent) is higher than UTPA graduation rate (26 percent) during the 2005-06 academic year.

UTPA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics GPA (2.946) is higher than UTPA undergraduate GPA (2.60) for the Fall of 2005.

UTPA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics GPA (2.929) is higher than UTPA undergraudate GPA (2.62) for the Spring of 2006.

UTPA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics GPA (2.938) is higher than UTPA undergraduate GPA (2.61) for the 2005-06 academic year.

89 student-athletes earned Dean's List Honors during the 2005-06 academic year.

13 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the Fall of 2005.

12 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the Spring of 2006.

39 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.5 of higher during the Fall of 2005.

42 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.5 of higher during the Spring of 2006.

92 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.0 of higher during the Fall of 2005.

94 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.0 of higher during the Spring of 2006.

61 student-athletes earned UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll laurels - which recognizes student-athletes that have maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average in both the fall and spring semesters.

UTPA Student-Athlete Accomplishments during 2005-06 Academic Year

Stacey Gooden (Women's Basketball) maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average throughout her academic/athletic career. She became the first UTPA student-athlete to be named Valedictorian of her graduating class in psychology and rehabilitative services.

Natalie Haime (Women's Golf) represented UTPA at the 2006 NCAA Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL.

Gooden earned the Ann LaMantia Award for the UTPA female student-athlete with the highest grade point average.

Otis Powers was honored with the Lou Hassel Award for the UTPA male student-athlete with the highest grade point average.

Melissa Uriegas (Women's Golf) was awarded with the State Farm Insurance/PGA Minority College Golf Scholarship.

Karen Lyons and Stephanie Redd were selected to the 2005 Academic All-Independent Women's Volleyball Team.

Zach Trader was selected to the 2005-06 Academic All-Independent Men's Basketball Team.

Trader and Gooden were selected to the Fourth Annual Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention Team.

Gooden, Dominique Montague, Cinthia Ramirez and Devin Reed were selected to the 2005-06 Academic All-Independent Women's Basketball Team.

Nikki Boychuk and Stefanie Maynard were selected to the 2005-06 Academic All-Independent Women's Golf Team.

Colin Norris was selected to the 2005-06 Academic All-Independent Men's Golf Team.

Powers was selected to the 2006 Academic All-Independent Baseball Team.
